ECDC Houston Multicultural Center (HMC) is honored to be a recipient of the Blue Impact Grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX). This generous support will directly advance our efforts to help newcomers and underserved community members build a pathway toward employment readiness and workforce development.

The check presentation, hosted by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas on October 29th, celebrated organizations across the state working to uplift and strengthen communities through health, education, and economic empowerment. ECDC HMC was recognized for its commitment to empowering refugees, immigrants, and other vulnerable populations to achieve stability and self-sufficiency through tailored programs, training, and community partnerships.

With this grant, ECDC HMC will expand its Employment Readiness and Workforce Development initiatives, which equip individuals with the skills, resources, and confidence to enter and thrive in the job market. These efforts include job readiness workshops, career coaching, digital literacy, and employer connections, creating pathways to meaningful and sustainable employment for Houston’s diverse communities.

“We are deeply grateful to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for their belief in our mission,” said Miriam Diria, Managing Director, “Their partnership strengthens our ability to prepare individuals for success in the workforce and, ultimately, to build healthier, more resilient communities.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas team for their generosity, encouragement, and recognition of our work. Together, we are building opportunities and creating brighter futures for those we serve.
