Who We Are
Welcome to the ECDC-Houston Multicultural Center (ECDC-HMC), a new branch of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC), proudly serving the Houston community. ECDC, a dedicated national partner in refugee resettlement for 33 years and immigrant assistance since 1983. With over three decades of experience in refugee resettlement and immigrant assistance, ECDC has been a national partner in creating opportunities and providing essential support to newcomers in the United States since 1983.
ECDC HMC creates opportunities and unique pathways to self-sufficiency and well-being for refugees and immigrants.
Mission: To assist refugees, immigrants and low-income residents to achieve self-sufficiency through training, employment and support services.



Our Journey
For more than 40 years, ECDC has played a vital role in helping refugees find new beginnings and thrive in their new communities. Our journey in Houston began with our affiliate office, through which we have served a significant number of refugees in recent years. Now, we are excited to expand our presence by establishing our very own branch office, reinforcing our commitment to the Houston community.
